Hockey Practice

 Last night I had ice hockey practice. A lot of people don't know that SRU has a women's club ice hockey team. It is a very interesting combination of people because me and another girl both played actual college hockey before coming to Slippery Rock and some of the girls have never played in a hockey game before. Most of the practice consists of us teaching the other girls. We have our first game on Saturday, which will be interesting to see how the other girls do. I am just looking forward to dominating everyone and playing without the pressure of making no mistakes.

    It's really cool to know that you do hockey. I feel like I haven't know many girls who play ice hockey. I love that SRU has a ice hockey club, and you guys' first game is coming up. It's really nice of you guys to teach the newer players. I hope you guys win on Saturday!

    Haley Great post. I never knew that slippery rock offered a women's club ice hockey team. I know how it feels practicing before a big game and the emotions you feel before. I also know how it feels to play a game and the pressure of failure feels during competition, all you can do in the moment is play your best. Hope you guys do well. Play Hard and have fun!

Hiking At McConnells Mill

 Today I went hiking at McConnells Mill State Park with my parents and my dog. It was a pretty short hike, but we went off the trail a lot so I could look at the boulders there. My mom was scared me and my dad was going to get bit by a snake because there were signs that said "caution, may be snakes in this area", but my dad and I wanted to explore. My dog took a nice swim and behaved for the most part, but she ate some giant poop that was on a rock. Overall it was a nice hike and it was such a beautiful day outside.

Rock Climbing

 Today I worked at the Arc at the Rock Climbing Wall. It wasn't super busy, but we got a couple regulars and a couple new people in the three hours that I was there for. I got to belay someone who was newer to climbing and help them learn more about it. I also got to try out a few new routes that my co-workers had set. I got one of them, but the other one I still need to work on. I think that if I work on my flexibility and grip strength over the next couples weeks I will be able to get it. I will be going camping and hiking with my dad this weekend, stay tuned!
